The body of Pierre Monel, 22, a resident of La Saline, a sprawling slum near the main port facilities in Port-au-Prince, is claim by his mother, Emmanuelle Mesiys, following an autopsy. Monel was part of a group of five young men alleged to be "Chymères" , beaten and gunned down allegedly by a member of the Haitian National Police. The policeman is now facing accusations ranging from illegal confinement and torture to murder.
