Aceh Recovery

In 2006, I was invited by Oxfam GB to take part in the commemoration of the second anniversary of the 2004 Earthquake and Tsunami in Aceh, by contributing a documentary essay on the recovery. After the overwhelming trauma and destruction in Aceh and the end of a 30 year civil war, recovery in my essay came to mean a return to a more "normal" life for the survivors...
